Macaroni Pie Ingredients1 pk. Macaroni (12 ozs.) 1 onion grated 1 Jar Tamangy Chutney 2 cups milk 3 ozs. Grated cheddar cheese 1/2 cup flour 4 tbsp. Butter 1 cup Smoked Sausage - diced (optional) 1/8 tsp. Seasoned salt 1 oz. Grated cheddar cheese and 1/8 tsp. Paprika for garnish Method Prepare macaroni according to package directions and set aside. Melt the butter in a pan and add the butter to make a roux. Slowly add the milk stirring all the time. Add the cheese, Tamangy and seasoned salt and cook for about 2 minutes - until cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and thick. Use a balloon whisk to kept make the sauce smooth. In a large bowl mix the macaroni, onion, sauce and sausage together. Grease an ovenproof dish and pour in the macaroni mixture. Sprinkle on some grated cheese and paprika then bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. |
